Meet the team

These are the people working to bring the Build Better Humans mission to takeoff.

Where mindset meets meaning.

Jason Boivin

Co-Founder

Jason is a former competitive swimmer who often felt misunderstood and struggled to reach his potential. He dealt with chronic performance anxiety and frequently fell short in races, feeling unsupported and discouraged. He now recognizes that the right coaching and mental support could have changed his experience in sport. These challenges led him to become the coach he once needed. Today, he is committed to helping young athletes, parents, and coaches build connection, understanding, and support so no athlete has to face those pressures alone.

Brendan Dinsdale

Co-Founder

Brendan grew up playing competitive badminton and was known as a hard-working athlete, but his efforts were often focused in the wrong places. During his varsity career, poor coaching and a lack of support led to complete burnout, eventually pushing him to step away from the sport. The experience affected every part of his life, leaving him feeling exhausted, disconnected, and not good enough. Looking back, maybe comedy as a primary coping mechanism wasn’t as helpful as he thought at the time. Today, Brendan works with youth athletes and coaches to help them pursue their goals in a sustainable way and use sport as a powerful tool for life, not just results.

Maggie Gowland

Head of Growth

Maggie is a former Track & Field athlete who sustained more than her fair share of injuries. Having better avenues to access mental support for athletes, especially those struggling with hurdles like hers, would’ve changed her game. She’s very excited about working with people dedicated to building better humans and giving others the support her younger self needed.

Still on the fence? Let our former clients convince you.

  • “I like speaking with someone that has the tools to help me grow to be a better person, be mentally stronger, and that has been able to find my weaknesses and make me view the world a little differently.”
  • “The thing with the most positive impact was learning to pause before reacting in situations and really trying to understand the situations I get myself into without relying on past judgements.”
  • Having a blocked period of time and a performance consultant allowed me to dedicate a part of my training to mental practice, something I wasn’t in the habit of doing before.”
