Maggie Gowland

Head of Growth
Maggie is a former Track & Field athlete who sustained more than her fair share of injuries. Having better avenues to access mental support for athletes, especially those struggling with hurdles like hers, would’ve changed her game. She’s very excited about working with people dedicated to building better humans and giving others the support her younger self needed.

At Build Better Humans, she leads growth, marketing, and brand strategy. She oversees content direction, runs the blog and social media, and designed and built the website you’re exploring, among many other things. She plays a key strategic role in shaping how BBH communicates its values, ideas, and services to the world, pairing thoughtful storytelling with a passion and strong eye for design.

And, if you really care about credentials: Maggie’s a Montreal based writer and editor who holds a BA in English from Queen’s University and an MA in English from McGill. She’s worked at Graphite, an SEO agency, for over 4 years, where she’s usually managing a bunch of clients and a team of delightful editors. Those clients span industries, with some notable names being BetterUp and Notion. Before that, she worked as a journalist for The Queen’s Journal and The Pigeon (sadly, now defunct).
