Jason Boivin

Co-founder

At Build Better Humans, Jason shapes the philosophy of the organization by leading its vision and direction. He works with athletes, coaches, teams, and organizations, co-creates the programs and frameworks that guide BBH’s services, and supports the development of consultants, among many other things. He has a deep passion for helping people grow through sport and performance.

Jason is a former competitive swimmer who often felt misunderstood and struggled to reach his potential. He dealt with chronic performance anxiety and frequently fell short in races, feeling unsupported and discouraged. He now recognizes that the right coaching and mental support could have changed his experience in sport. These challenges led him to become the coach he once needed. Today, he is committed to helping young athletes, parents, and coaches build connection, understanding, and support so no athlete has to face those pressures alone.

And, if you really care about credentials: Jason is a Chartered Professional Coach through the NCCP and CAC and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA). He holds a Master’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. He currently works with Curling Canada in the high-performance pathway and has previously supported national programming with Volleyball Canada and Archery Canada.

Before specializing in mental performance, Jason spent several years coaching swimming and teaching kinesiology at McGill University, which shaped his athlete-centred and development-focused approach. He now teaches sport psychology at the University of Ottawa and serves as a coach developer in both Ontario and Quebec.
