Brendan Dinsdale

Co-founder

Brendan grew up playing competitive badminton and was known as a hard-working athlete, but his efforts were often focused in the wrong places. During his varsity career, poor coaching and a lack of support led to complete burnout, eventually pushing him to step away from the sport. The experience affected every part of his life, leaving him feeling exhausted, disconnected, and not good enough. Looking back, maybe using humour as a primary coping mechanism wasn’t as helpful as he thought. Today, Brendan works with youth athletes and coaches to help them pursue their goals in a sustainable way and use sport as a powerful tool for life, not just results.

At Build Better Humans, he leads the operational and structural side of the organization. He manages the systems and processes that keep everything running smoothly, co-creates the programs and frameworks that guide BBH’s services, supports the development of consultants across the organization, and handles a wide range of other responsibilities. He brings strategy and steadiness to complex work, both behind the scenes and in practice, and has a knack for building clarity where things can easily become overwhelming.

And, if you really care about credentials: Brendan Dinsdale is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) who works with athletes, coaches, and teams across youth, university, and national-team environments. Brendan holds a Master’s degree in Human Kinetics with a concentration in Intervention and Consultation from the University of Ottawa, and is a Professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association. He brings extensive experience within high-performance sport, including work with multiple national programs in Canada, and is driven by a passion for helping people perform well under pressure and grow through challenge.
